Lovely stay at the White Star Line Hotel. The distinctive building was easy to find with an imposing entrance. Superb service from the front desk. The room was clean and much bigger than expected.
I can’t comment on the breakfast as I had an early appointment to get to. Absolutely loved my themed room with its balcony overlooking the traffic and over to the Mersey. As the cost was reasonable, I’d like to return and stay in other rooms and explore the Titanic exhibition.

The room was a lot better than expected the view and jacuzzi bath and the huge kitchen, the staff are so friendly and helpful. And made us feel welcome the second we walked through the door, will definitely be coming back, the receptionist ruby was very helpful and made our few days away amazing even though it is still going through renovations I'm sure it will look even more amazing when it's finished.
Will definitely recommend it to other comic con goers and my friends.
The top floor quarter deck bar was closed this time and only for booked events.
When we came the last time we had drinks on the rooftop balcony, which was a nice experience.
Beds could be a bit more comfortable as mattresses looked old and linen could be a bit more soft.

Location is very good
Room needs a major make over and we paid extra for the deluxe room.
Bedside lights didnt work.
Iron cord showing bare wires.
Iron dirty.
Light in bathroom very poor.
Shower water did not drain so stood in loads of water while showering.
Windows nailed shut.
1 small fan
Breakfast - cup of tea was cold, they did change this when asked.
Bacon was cold.
Egg hard.
Beans tasted very sweet.
Hash brown sloppy.
Also they physically take £100 from your bank as a deposit then you have to wait for it to be returned. Most hotel take a holding deposit that doesn't actually leave your account.
Overall - we would not book there again. This used to be 30 James Street and was awful. White star have taken over and was hoping it had been updated.
