We had a very pleasant stay at Madad Guesthouse. The family who runs the guesthouse is very friendly, and the location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from Khiva's citadel.
Breakfast is very generous, and we also had the opportunity to go on an excursion with the owner to visit the desert fortresses on the outskirts of Khiva. It was a very interesting experience. The price was $40 per car, which we thought was very reasonable.
One area for improvement: Although Booking.com mentions a shared kitchen in the description, there isn't actually one available. We think it would be very useful to have at least a kettle and a fridge in the dining room for guests to use.

Close to all attractions. Good price to pay.
Rooms are not soundproof.

Nice, clean and close to the old Town of khiva
So the owner sent me an email 2 days before the reservation to inform me that the price had changed (35$ for 2 nights became 55$). I said no and got no response, only one ok maybe 12h before I arrived. Then I was asked the morning of coming to go to another hotel (His brothers?) because there was an angry guest that did not want to leave, i only saw the message 1h before arriving, asked which hotel he just said oh my brother i will escort you, and when i arrived the angry guest had left apparently. It was really wierd, i Felt wronged and only because i sent a lot of messages to ask if the booking was still okay even if I say no to new price did I get a response.
