Amazing 16th-century coaching inn in the historic village of Piercebridge, just a few steps away from one of the few Roman bridges with remains still visible above ground. Beautiful historic building with a traditional interior, including stone fireplaces and a famous grandfather clock. Excellent staff, food and atmosphere. The views of the river and stone bridge immediately behind the pub are fantastic.

George was able to accommodate all the guests at a wedding,
Rooms were good size, facilities were good
Outside area was very useful for the wedding and daytime socials
Not enough staff for bar and breakfast service.
Resulted in long waits to be served
Clearly didn't take account of the number of guests staying for the wedding
