We feel perhaps some decoration needs tlc but did not affect our stay.

The room was beautiful and the views from the windows were glorious. The breakfast is scrumptious and not to be missed! The bed was very comfortable.
On one night it grew cold outside and the heating wasn't working in the rooms. The staff rectified this by putting electric heaters in our rooms which kept us nice and warm.

Excellent food (Indian) and a stones throw from Harwell campus

The bed was really comfortable and the shower, powerful. The restaurant and bar areas were modern and bright. The breakfast was fine. The gardens and garden furniture were lovely. The lady on Reception and serving at breakfast was extremely friendly. Parking was plentiful. The hotel was within easy walking distance to a dining pub.
Whilst some of the areas were bright and well cared for, the same could not be said for the staircase and corridor in the main building and the windows in the bedroom obviously hadn't been cleaned for quite a while. The bedroom carpet was also in need of a clean, as there were several, noticeable stains on it - one of them quite large. The toilet flush also made a dreadful noise. I appreciate renovating a large building can take time but the current owners have been there many years now (according to ChatGPT) so I would have expected everywhere to be as smart/clean as the more modern additions.
