The staff were all friendly and helpful, the hotel was of a very good standard inside and out. We loved the selection at breakfast time and really appreciated the free room upgrade. My wife loved it too and that is not an every day event. If we come to Exeter again we will stay here. Thank you for a great experience.
Having to leave.

Excellent breakfasts; delicious evening meals; spacious well equipped room and en suite. Helpful friendly staff everywhere. Beautiful gardens; country house feel; lovely surroundings. Perfect last couple of days with Seth, my 15 month old Yellow Labrador Guide Dogs pup in training before handing him on to the next trainer at GD's Exeter Office. The Hotel and Grounds were great place for us to spend our last few days together.
Having to leave! And being dogless by then!!

The location is beautiful, with a wonderful countryside outlook. I changed my room from one that was immediately above the entrance and therefore restaurant/bar/patio where smokers would congregate, to one overlooking the car park, which was much quieter and enjoyed the views. It was also a much nicer room! Esbe checked me in and was so helpful.
I ate in the restaurant, the Beef Wellington was very good, followed by Sticky Toffee Pudding and clotted cream, rather steeped in Toffee sauce, tho I was not complaining. I know the chef was the only one working in the kitchen this night and he did a stirling job of sending out superb food, piping hot and in good time.
The place has so much history and I enjoyed reading the book that had been put together explaining it all.
The hot water in the morning was not as hot as it could have been, although to be fair, I was probably one of the later guests to use the water.

The Breakfast was excellent with both cold and hot choices. The size of the bedroom was good as was the bathroom/ The bed and pillows was comfortyable.
I foumd it difficult to walk up and dowm stairs as I am partially disabled. The WIfi was very poor and non existence in some parys of the hotel. The worst aspect was the smell in the bathroom which was very unpleasent.
