We had a sea view from our room which is always a bonus. The restaurant also has a great outlook over Torbay. The hotel and pub (Appleby's) is just on the edge of Torquay town centre and only a 20 minute walk from everything. My sat nav wasn't particularly helpful but The Appleby's pub sign and large council run car park at the bottom of the hill will help you locate the hotel.
Hotel parking only has a limited number of spaces but we managed to squeeze in and once in you can stay there. Parking spaces come and go throughout the day as it's also used by the pub visitors. There is a very large council run car park literally next door so you can check in and monitor the hotel parking availability later, a space will crop up.

Excellent value for money, good location, great breakfast and friendly staff.
7 / 10Good·Oct 2026
The breakfast was good. Good size room with nice views. Hotel was close to the theatre and restaurants.
Radiator in the room didn’t work. Bar called last orders at 22.10.

It’s more a pub with rooms than a hotel with a bar.
Beds not comfortable and some rooms on the roadside are very noisy
