The lake ashi view with an open air bath was so relaxing and the perfect start and end to my stay near Lake Ashi in Hakone.

Very quiet and relaxing place with a lovely view over lake Ashi. Spacious room with comfortable beds and a lovely outdoor balcony where the hot spring was also located. Great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

incredible view, beautifully decorated. the room was perfect i wouldn't change nothing about it
Disappointing Dinner.
We booked dinner at the last minute after the hotel confirmed it was possible. Unfortunately, the very expensive meal felt basic and improvised, while other guests received much better dishes. The clearest example was dessert: they received proper desserts, while we got only a few tiny pieces of fruit with "wine" jelly (tasted like just water).
The waiter later admitted this was because of our late booking. We would have preferred an honest “no,” a warning, or a reduced price.
Apart from this, the hotel, staff, and service were excellent. I believe they meant well, but sometimes trying too hard to accommodate guests can create a worse experience than simply saying no.
