The location of the hotel is superb, opposite the main train station, and just around the corner from the Westfield shopping centre.
It's easy to walk from the hotel to many of the Edinburgh sights, but also the local trams and buses go from just across the road from the hotel if you wanted to explore further a field.
Our room had a nice city view and was clean and spacious.
The customer service at the hotel was very disappointing. We arrived early after travelling on the overnight sleeper train to Edinburgh and asked if there was any possibility to check in earlier . Unfortunately the girl on reception was rude and dismissive and responded with a flat out no and advised check in was a 3pm only. There was no offer to try to come back earlier just in case a room came up before 3pm, understand there was no guarantee of a room earlier, but the customer service could have been a lot better.
When we did eventually check into our room, it was very basic.
