The staff was very friendly and helpful! The room was tidy. Breakfast was really nice. The location was obviously perfect.

Great breakfast!
Staff were not really friendly. When we arrived, heating wasn't on. There were an error mark on a panel. We called front desk, a female staff responded and said "it's a matter of preference". I was shocked. But later we called again to other staff and he responded very quickly and get a technician. There were some malfunction so he fixed it in his end. The temperature of that day was very low, we travelled from south, hotel shouldn't respond in joke. The room was very cold.

It looks small but has lots of wonderful levels. It is on a hill so ground level is the 4th floor! It is walking distance of Princess Street but without the chaos of loads of shoppers. Also, very near Waverley train station. It had an excellent restaurant although it was on the pricey side! However, it was worth it. The staff were very good and showed an real interest in their customers.
I can’t really think of a downside. Even breakfast was superb and passed the ‘genuinely fresh scrambled egg test’.

The location was superb close to shops, bars and restaurants
We arrived early so understood our room wouldn’t be ready but as there was a storm outside we thought we would just grab a drink at the bar unfortunately we couldn’t access the bar due to it being closed for a private function we were told we could get a drink in the restaurant but we could only have wine which wasn’t a great experience. The room was freezing cold when we first went in and still wasn’t the greatest hours later when we returned from being out. A small one but it just added to the list of the poor experience, the sky channels on the TV worked for about 10 mins and then failed. All in all the location is brilliant but our experience was pretty average
