Unique hotel, old share, nice garden.

Not much. In my opinion French restaurant was bit overpriced. Especially wine, however food was very good.

The Fujiya is a beautiful historic property situated in Miyanoshita near Hakone. The gardens and the amenities could not be faulted. And the staff were lovely.
The dinner and breakfast prices were excessively high and the portions tiny so we felt hungry after ordering 2 mains and when we ordered some bread to fill up we were charged this cost.

Incredible hotel with very professional staff. Ornate wood carvings, soft red carpets, waterfalls, gardens, gorgeous in-door pool and Onsen. Amazing restaurants/dining halls. Extremely delux, first class experience. Very well suited for affluent/opulent clientele.
As a "normal" person in terms of wealth, I was shocked at times by the price tag on the services at the hotel and the restaurant. Be prepared to spend, but the quality for your money is very exceptional.

The onsen was nice & staff very formal.
Property greatly requires a facelift; carpets are worn & rooms dated. Definitely not a 5 star
