Breakfast was disappointing...First morning limited choice on yogurts...toaster takes for EVER....had to ask for juice jug to be refilled despite an employee just been at table....
Second morning...no pastries on arrival (0910)waited a few minutes as they seemed to be topping up the table but none came...so asked about pastries was told breakfast was over...
Breakfast to be honest was very boring...the pastries were the only thing i was looking forward to on my second day...and there were none.
Also feel strongly that at the weekends...particularly on Sunday breakfast should be until 10am...for me when i stay in a hotel i want to be relaxed about getting up for breakfast..have a lie-in...not be worried about getting down there early so that i get what i have paid for...
The location was good..this is where we held my mother's wake a few years ago..so for me it was an emotional visit.
Some parts of the hotel(carpets) were looking a bit shabby...but to be fair i think they are gradually sprucing it up...must be difficult.

The room I requested on the ground floor was fine. The beds were comfortable. We requested breakfast with room service. The full English breakfast was excellent apart from the fact we were asked to choose white or brown bread with the meal. We asked for white but actually no bread arrived. We didn't worry about chasing it up as the meal alone was adequate.
We arrived at 3pm and hoped to be able to grab a snack at the hotel. A very pleasant member of your staff explained there was no chef available, but did offer extra biscuits, which we accepted. As my sister is diabetic, I had to visit Waitrose for snacks.

The room was fantastic; however, we did upgrade to the large room. Our friends had the smaller room and said it was a little too small.
The staff could not be any more helpful, fantastic at reception and in the restaurant. We really enjoyed our two nights stay, food and drinks, at very good prices and portions.
