The hotel and grounds were beautiful. Good location in a pretty village with centuries of history. Toiletries and fridge in room, equipped with extra plug in radiator and fan. Very pleasant to stay in such an impressive building.
Very creaky floorboards which disturbed us from above and also made us conscious of disturbing others.

100% excellent

The bar was comfortable, and the drink prices were reasonable. Breakfast was good, with a generous selection
The bedroom was very dull, tired, and dated. The bed linen was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The wardrobe door was missing, and the curtains were worn and shabby. Outside our bedroom window, there appeared to be a shed with old plumbing pipes and waste items stored on its roof; it was most unsightly. The lighting in the bedroom was very poor. My criticisms are matters that could have been prevented with good management.
