Bellissima struttura, moderna e pulita.

This is very modern clean property with spacious rooms and a cool understated vibe in a quiet location but near the cable car
Even for Japan there seemed to be excessive rules and regulations stated

It is a beautifull cultural place. Build witha good taste and respect of the tradition. We arrived early and could leave the luggages before the check in. We also booked dinner which we cooked ourselves in the room, which was a great and recommended experience. The engredients were top quality and instructions were clear. It was our first time staying in that tyoe of hotel, however the sleeping in a traditional way on the mattrasses ended up being one of the most restfull stays. The onsen is small, but the ability to rent a private bath really paid off as well
Not huge problem for us, however it is on the very steep area. Walking with luggages up the hill migh cause some problems for others.
Keep in mind that there is no shower in the room. For us, strange europeans, it was abit unusual to use public, onsen showers in the morning :)

Very nice onsen and hotel building in general. Clean. Communication via the booking chat was very fast, and the responses were clear and respectful. A lot of information is documented up front.
The hotel is unmanned. There's no one on site. So you're only chance if you need any help or have any question is to chat to the staff. I had a bad experience with other guests running in the corridors and partying late at night, and there was no one to control it. The apologies the next day (on the chat) were respectful, but for all I know it could be an AI bot replying. It didn't feel safe at the end. You also don't seem to get cleaning in the room, and with exeption of the public onsen, everything is paid separately (access to sauna, private bath, even ping pong tables). Very tricky to get at night if you take the bus and not the train.
