I could not have been more centrally located. It is an old place, so floors slope and doorways are low. But after a few weeks in these parts, I know to look. Dinner was lovely; the pie superb. And I was grateful they minded my luggage after checkout since my train departure was later in the day.

Highly recommend for a unique experience. Our room (7) was very big, had 3 windows overlooking York Minster (partial view). Room had a large 4 poster comfortable bed, with separate seating area and good amenities (tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, iron and hairdryer).
Room was dark and had a spooky feel- which is what we were hoping for !
Will definitely return next year!
