The location was super. The room overlooked the river which was a haven for bird life. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely woodburner that sits between the bar and restaurant was perfect for the stormy weather.
The ensuite was dated with a low pressure WC that needed fierce handle action to flush. But given the excellent rate we paid, that felt entirely reasonable.

Diner and breakfast were very good, the staff could not have done more to make us feel welcome,
With the age of the building there was nothing we did not like the room and bathroom were comfortable and very clean

Stayed as a stop off on journey south, but would definitely return and use as a base. Lovely staff, great sized room, really clean , huge comfy bed fabulous view of the river from the balcony, great food.
Some noise from room above but not unexpected in an old inn.

Bed was comfortable
Very dated, rundown on both inside and outside.
Could smell cooked food everywhere in the building.
