Amazing location, great staff, and fantastic rooms! Food was well beyond our expectations as well!
If you have tattoos you will need to rent the private onsen but it is a great price and a great facility.

The quantity of food at dinner was good, at breakfast decent. The location was solid along the water and in proximity to a nice walk. And close enough to the train station to walk with ease.
The experience is sleeping on the floor, of course, but even then the futon was not comfortable -- a sleeping bag on top of the tatami. The onsen was hot and felt good, but it was closed off from any beautiful view, which was very disappointing. You're surrounded by natural beauty, and part of relaxing and reflecting in the onsen is doing so with an inspiring view! The quality of the food was a bit less than expected, as that was something I was anticipating would be among the highlights.
