Stayed in the tower room it was like living in a palm tree on the beach.

I had stayed at Palapas del Sol 12 years ago and it was great. Now it is a little larger and has a bar and restaurant but still has all of the small hotel charm. No more than 20 rooms. Our room with the tower was fabulous. Huge with a daybed and big terrace with table chairs and hammocks. Our friends ocean view king room with four poster bed was also gorgeous with a big terrace. The property is tight on the beach front with deck chairs and umbrellas and even beach food and drink service. You couldn't get a better location Beautiful white sand beach and turquoise calm water. There is none of teh sargassum seaweed problem that has started to ruin the Cancun and Tulum coast.
Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices. We ate in the bar which faces the water. The food is good but there are some fabulous places to eat outside. I highly recommend Santos Fuego wood fired oven cooking (roast broccoli and also octopus great) and Parador33, the lobster pasta generous with a whole lobster tail.
The ultimate recommendation I guess is that we stayed 4 days, then drove all over the Yucatan but our whole group voted to return to Palapas del Sol for 5 more days before leaving Mexico.

just that the staff put club music during the day, its a relax location the music should be chillout and not reggaeton
