Best hotel of our stay - very old school design, with dark and sumptuous decor and lots of interesting artwork throughout the hotel. Very friendly and helpful receptionist when we arrived, and the room was great - a suite with separate living and sleeping areas, together with a separate bathroom and shower room/toilet. No restaurant, but the hotel is just a few minutes walk from the centre so that was no problem. Really loved this hotel and would definitely stay again. Parking is limited so good to check in early-ish if you can.
The one-person lift was very old fashioned, but absolutely was in keeping with the general vibe of the hotel!

The staff was incredible --especially Gabriela at the front desk. She was most helpful with suggestions and directions. Great location. Approximately 4 blocks to Rainbow Street -- or a 7 minute walk. Hotel was very comfortable. The night we arrived there was a jazz trio playing. Most enjoyable.
We appreciated everything.

The online check-in makes actual check-in a breeze. I got lucky and was upgraded to a suite for my stay and it really exceeded my expectations. From here on out I will just book the suite. It's worth it.
All the staff at Hotel Holt are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent quality. You can't beat the location of this hotel either, right in the heart of Reykjavík.

The art displayed throughout the hotel and within the rooms is lovely! The bar and reception are also well decorated. Gabriella at reception was very nice and helpful!!
The room photography is deceptive; in person our King balcony room seemed dated with faded stained carpet and an oddly placed worn down couch. Cramped bathroom. Also the balcony is not private (that wasn’t a deal breaker as it was cold and rainy during our stay, but still wasn’t obvious to me from the pics).
