Our stay at Swissôtel Al Maqam was very pleasant. The hotel is ideally located, just a short walk from the Haram, with the women’s entrance, Gate 87, particularly close by. It was also very convenient to have a separate entrance on the side of the Clock Tower, making access to and from the Haram much easier.
We had requested an early check-in as our flight arrived very early, and we were advised that this would depend on availability. I was more than happy to pay the additional fee. Unfortunately, we had a difficult journey getting to Makkah, as we had missed our connecting flight, so the thought of having to wait even longer to check into our room felt particularly daunting.
However, the hotel reception kindly called me while I was on my way to the hotel at around 12 pm to let me know that our room was already ready for check-in. This thoughtful gesture helped ease some of the stress we had been feeling that day, and we really appreciated it, especially as we were travelling with children.
The service we received throughout our stay was excellent, and the staff were helpful and considerate. Overall, we had a lovely experience, and the hotel’s convenient location, excellent service and thoughtful approach to our early check-in made our stay even more enjoyable. I would happily recommend Swissôtel Al Maqam to others visiting Makkah for Umrah.
Everything was great overall. The only issue we encountered was that the fridge was heating up rather than keeping our items cold. The hotel did arrange for it to be replaced, which we appreciated, although we still felt that the replacement fridge wasn’t working as well as it should have. That said, I would still commend the hotel for the way they handled the situation and their efforts to resolve the issue.

Location
Pricing was too high for just basic room & beds were uncomfortable and it seemed to be damp within the room as the bedsheets, duvet etc seemed to be slightly damp.
