We recently stayed here and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Our initial reaction upon arrival was simply "wow" because the location is absolutely great and the wonderful decor sets a beautiful tone the moment you walk in. Since we arrived early, the staff kindly allowed us to leave our car in the car park, which meant we could head straight out and explore the local area immediately.
We stayed in a well-appointed room on the first floor, and the space itself was great. It featured a huge, incredibly comfortable bed, a large sofa area, a massive TV, and plenty of tea, coffee, and biscuits. The bathroom was a real highlight, boasting both a walk-in shower and a roll-top bath with absolutely no complaints. If there was any minor disappointment, it was just that our view faced the car park rather than the lake, but the quality of the room more than made up for it.
The bar area and the staff were wonderful, and the barman in particular was incredibly friendly. They offered a nice selection of reasonably priced snacks, too. For dinner, we chose to eat right there in the bar area. It features the same menu as the Brasserie, but we just felt more relaxed and comfortable in the bar atmosphere. The food was beautifully presented and the portion sizes were just right. Breakfast the next morning was a buffet with plenty of choice, and the staff were more than happy to arrange eggs cooked a different way upon request.
The hotel is currently undergoing some improvements to add a spa, but these works never affected our stay at all as the area is well fenced off to protect the great views from the lake-facing terrace. There is a convenient direct path leading straight down to the water, and the property offers quick, easy access into town. The hotel completely met our expectations, and we would have no hesitation to return!

The room and location were good
The room had damp. The table we sat at twice in the bar was never wiped clean. We had to go to the bar for any service. No staff approached us.
