The cozyness and the guest.

This was my second time here and I’ll definitely try to stay here next time I’m in Edinburgh. It is a small, quiet guest house about 15 min by bus from the main tourist sights and has several bus routes in the area. The owner is friendly and helpful. The place is immaculate with the rooms cleaned every day. Also a very well stocked corner store across the road.
The only thing to keep in mind is that there aren’t many restaurants in the area but there are two bus stops with frequent service into town. One is across the street while the other is a 5-7 min walk.

We had a lovely visit to Highfield guest House: Kate, Maggie and Gordon made sure we had everything we would need and helped us with invaluable local knowledge all throughout. The whole property is a showcase of their love and care as host and hostesses. Our room was beautifully decorated, charming, characterful and absolutely immaculate with all the amenities you can think of and more thoughtful touches. (like a contactless little bin in the bathroom or guide books for ongoing local events)

I am always a bit picky with cleanness, but this place was spotless. The lady was really nice, helpful with suggestions and answered all my questions giving me useful tips about the public transport and coffe/breakfast/ restaurant options around.
