Bondgate Boutique's convenient self check-in system saved my partner and I when we were in a bind. The accommodation that we had booked for those two nights had become unresponsive and didn't supply any check-in information, so we were looking for somewhere last minute to stay at around 5pm. We drove to Alnwick and everywhere was booked up except for the final room here - and it was perfect! We were in within 10 minutes of booking.
The room was clean and well stocked with coffees, teas, and toilet paper. We stayed in one of the ground floor front rooms, but it was very well sound-insulated because we didn't get any noise from the road. The location was fantastic - a two minute walk into Alnwick proper, around the corner from the castle and gardens, and a short walk uphill to Barter Books and Lidl.
Most importantly, the one employee we ran into was very kind and the owners were extremely responsive on Booking. This was particularly helpful when we were booking last minute and needed immediate reassurance that we had somewhere to stay.
Our only (small) complaint would be the quite noisy heater when you shower and flush the toilet. I wasn't affected by other people's showers, but I was conscious when I was showering later in the evening or earlier in the morning that I might be disturbing them. A small price to pay for an otherwise 10/10 stay.

Great location in Alnwick.
Next door to The Plough, which is under new management and offers wonderful dinners!
Very lumpy and horribly uncomfortable beds. Terribly uncomfortable flat pillows. Small rooms. Late check-in and early check-out.
