Lovely clean property, staff were welcoming and professional at all times. Breakfast was great with lots of options and great coffee. Location was great for access to the city, only being a 10 minute walk.

Just a 10-15 minute walk to the city center, great staff. Breakfast was good, although there were no sweet options and it’s not buffet style. For the price, I was happy.
The hotel states that it does a lot for ecology and to reduce waste (heated rack in the bathroom is only turned on at certain times for “added comfort”, no toiletries are not provided and shower gel has to be picked up from the reception to “reduce waste”) but they’re really just ways to cut costs. Bathroom smelled of sewage. Hairdryer that was in the room felt like it will break any second and temperature was difficult to moderate.

The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is excellent. The cottage was a great base to explore York.
