The Grand Hotel Amrâth Amsterdam features an underground Spa & Wellness center that is complimentary for hotel guests. However, in October and November 2026, the main indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, and steam room are temporarily out of service for maintenance. The fitness room and traditional saunas remain open and fully operational.

Fabulous staff, very attentive and helpful. Made our room special with rose petals, chocolates and welcome note. Amazing comfortable room & bed, gorgeous canal view, brilliant shower and bath tub. Good room facilities like free mini bar coke/water, Nespresso. Super central and very easy walk from Centraal Station for Eurostar and into town for sights and entertainment. The architecture of the building inside and out is just truly stunning and the history of the building. Lots of lovely details kept and explained.
The Wellness facilities, pool etc were being refurbed or repaired so out of use. Whilst the room was generally clean, there is a lot of old mould in the shower etc on the sealant, this is a simple replacement job rather than it looking so dirty. Appreciate we were there during ADE, and I'm sure there are always events on in Amsterdam, and it is a 5* hotel, but it's very costly for what you get.

We were upgraded to a junior suite because the pool was closed. Would have preferred the pool but appreciate the gesture. It was a very large room. The bar downstairs was great as was the breakfast.
The sink in the room was leaking, which made all the towels damp and there was a vinegar smell in the bathroom. The room service food was not good at all, and overpriced. We got very ill during our stay but I can’t say that was the hotel’s fault.

Staff were friendly and provided, shower products and snacks, amazing location only a walk away from amsterdam central
We asked for 2 single beds and ended up with a double with 2 single mattresses. The bathroom door also dont close with a latch and door design was such that it was see through. This was not ideal for sharing with my brother. When we pulled the mattress so my brother could sleep on the floor we found the mattress cover had many suspicious red stains. Also hotel had an old not modern vibe and had a musty smell throughout. Took a suprise 150 deposit on the day also still have not received back after 5 days leaving
