For a first time solo traveller, this place is good value. The facilities are clean. Staff are helpful. The location is very near Uneo station so there's no need to worry about transport.
My window view is a wall. 😂

The location is excellent, close to the Ginza line and Ueno station. The room was great, they had the type of bed you can put your luggage under, which is a huge space saver. The room was clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable.
Also check the neighboring diner (Bibibi) for some fresh local dishes at a cool Otaku themed place :)
The air conditioning is a bit loud when you turn it on, but will be quieter eventually after it has been running for some time.

The location was really convenient, the breakfast in a local spot nearby was really nice as well. Decent room size for Tokyo, typical APA hotel style and commodities. Very short walking distance to underground station and Ueno station that gets you pretty much anywhere across Japan. The rooms are very well insulated and quiet, considering the amount of rooms, hotel size and location - really nice. Amenities are also quite nice.
After using APA before, had to go for APA again. This time it was not that pleasant experience. The room window could not be opened for ventilation and air renewal (could, but had a plastic cover to avoid being opened). The mattress was absolutely terrible, it sank and was hollow due to use (back and neck pain was a problem for a few days while sleeping there). And there was a LOT of dust on the curtains, like A LOT, on top of furniture and on the air conditioner vents. really disappointed with these low standards which don't represent Japan and my perception on APA overall.
