The location is definitely the biggest advantage of this hostel! It’s perfectly situated in the heart of Edinburgh, within walking distance of almost everything you need to explore the city.
There are also food and drink options available on-site at reasonable prices, which is really convenient. The 24-hour reception is another great feature, especially for late check-ins or early check-outs.
Overall, the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, making it a pleasant place to stay.
The main downside was the noise coming from outside, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. It was extremely loud at times, although I understand that this is beyond the hostel’s control, given its central location.
Another small improvement would be adding privacy curtains to the beds. The sleeping areas feel quite exposed, and having curtains would provide a little more privacy and comfort.
These weren’t major issues, but they are worth mentioning.

Amazing location - so central! The staff were so nice, and very friendly. I stayed in the four bed female dorm which had decent enough space for us. They had a lot of events available each night and a restaurant/bar on site as well.
No kitchen facilities except for a very temperamental microwave, but you could use the kitchen in the hostel down the road (not very appealing when it’s lashing rain). The bar downstairs was VERY loud, and despite being on the second floor with doors and windows between us, we could hear everything. No towels provided but you could rent (cheaper to just buy one in primark honestly). The showers in the female bathrooms didn’t have an outside door - just an opaque door which hid very little, and made it awkward as you couldn’t bring clothes into the shower- and had to open the door to get them. Expensive enough to stay with them as well €75 a night, and I remember staying with them in another hostel a few years ago for under €40, but considering it’s peak tourist season, I guess that’s warranted.
