Bed was so comfortable, the shower was really nice and hot, loved the bar decor, breakfast was filling and delicious.
Heating wasn't working in our room, HOWEVER, the staff did ensure that there was an oil filled heater and that heated the room very nicely.
9 / 10Outstanding·Oct 2026
Great welcome, friendly people, good food, reasonable prices, clean en-suite bedrooms, coffee and tea with biscuits in the room, large towels. Easy access to York centre
Radiator in my room didn't work but made up for by large duvet and plug in heater. No problem with heating in daughter's room.
8 / 10Excellent·Oct 2026
Lovely old pub serving excellent food. Room was of a decent size, well equipped and large bathroom. All the staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful.
Road noise
6 / 10Average·May 2026
The location for visiting York was good.
The noise. The people talking loudly until four in the morning. The busy road traffic at five in the morning. The slammed doors at six in the morning. Thankfully, the pub wasn’t too loud.
