Summary:

The Space:

Sun Mesa Sanctuary is a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home east of Joshua Tree Village, built around a private, fully fenced backyard. Bright, comfortable interiors give the group room to gather, and outside are a custom in-ground pool, a hot tub, a barrel infrared sauna, two outdoor bathtubs, an outdoor shower, a pickleball court and a putting green. It sleeps up to eight and suits families and friends who want plenty to do at home between days in the park. Fill both outdoor tubs after dark and compare stars.

-Outdoor Amenities-

The fully fenced backyard is where your group can spend the whole day. Cool off in the custom in-ground pool, soak in the hot tub or settle into a sun lounger; the pool is not heated, and hot tub heating is included. There is a barrel-style dry infrared sauna, a custom outdoor shower with hot water and two outdoor bathtubs supplied with hot and cold water. A full-size pickleball court, a putting green, hammocks, a gas BBQ, a picnic table and a built-in gas fire pit round out the yard.



-Living Area-

The living area has warm desert details, relaxed furnishings and a smart TV for movie nights. The indoor fireplace is decorative and not functional. A separate game room has ping pong and foosball. Central heating and air conditioning, high-speed Wi-Fi and a washer and dryer are provided.



-Kitchen and Dining-

The fully equipped kitchen handles everything from quick breakfasts before a hike to dinners at home, and coffee from Joshua Tree Coffee Co. is provided. Outside, the gas BBQ and picnic table make it easy to cook and eat under the open sky. Ice trays are in the freezer, and you may wish to bring bottled drinking water.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

The primary bedroom has a California king bed, the second bedroom has a king bed, and the third and fourth bedrooms each have a queen bed. A queen Koala sofa bed folds out for additional sleeping space. Two shared bathrooms serve the bedrooms and common areas. The home sleeps up to eight guests.



-Surrounding Area-

Sun Mesa Sanctuary has Joshua Tree's shops, galleries, independent restaurants and cafés at hand, in a quieter setting away from the village center. Joshua Tree National Park brings rock formations and trails, and the area offers hiking, sound baths, stargazing and live music.

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.



Other Things to Note:

-Refrigerator-

The refrigerator's ice and water line is not connected. Ice trays are in the freezer, and filtered water is available.



-Indoor Fireplace-

The indoor fireplace is decorative and not functional. Central heating keeps the home comfortable in the winter months.



-House-Specific Rules-

► A maximum of four vehicles is permitted at the property under the short-term rental permit. Vehicles must be parked in the driveway. The garage is not available for parking, and street parking is prohibited.



-Pool Heating-

The pool is not heated. Hot tub heating is included with your stay. Please rinse off before entering the pool or hot tub, and do not allow pets in either.



-Pool and Hot Tub Service-

The pool and hot tub are serviced regularly, approximately between 9am and 4pm, and service may fall during your stay. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.



-Pet Policy-

We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation how many dogs you are bringing. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $500. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group.
