The Space:

Bling Shack is a one-of-a-kind hilltop home on five private acres where Hollywood glamour meets the high desert. The bright pink exterior gives way to an interior full of color, funky textures, chandeliers and music-inspired details, with floor-to-ceiling views of the Mojave. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms in the main house, plus a detached casita with a themed entertainment room, a karaoke stage and a mirrored 'portal room' bedroom with its own bath, make it a natural pick for celebrations and social groups. Warm up your vocals; the stage is set.

-Outdoor Amenities-

Set on 5 private acres atop a hill, the property has unobstructed desert views in every direction. The in-ground pool and hot tub face the landscape for golden hour and starry nights. A propane fire pit anchors the outdoor lounge, backed by a custom mural, and there are several more seating areas for relaxing and stargazing, plus a BBQ grill and outdoor dining table. A Hollywood-style sign stands on the hilltop.



-Living Area-

The living room is bright and full of personality, with a classic Chesterfield sofa, several seating areas, a smart TV, a record player and a high-quality sound system. Large windows bring in light and frame the desert.



-Kitchen and Dining-

The industrial-style kitchen is anchored by a Viking stove and oven, with spacious counters and full cookware for group meals. It opens to the dining and living areas, and coffee from Joshua Tree Coffee Co. is provided.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

The main house has three bedrooms. The primary suite has a king bed and an attached bathroom with a large walk-in shower. The second bedroom has a king bed and the third a queen bed, and they share a hallway bathroom.



-The Casita-

The detached casita is the theme bar of the property. Its soundproofed entertainment room has a cheetah-print stage, a bar setup for karaoke or events, projector capability for movie nights and floor-to-ceiling velvet curtains. The fourth bedroom, known as the 'portal room', hides a mirrored installation with glowing portal lights and has its own private bathroom, and a kitchenette with mini fridges keeps drinks close.



-Surrounding Area-

Bling Shack sits above the high desert in North Joshua Tree's Sunfair Heights neighborhood. The Transmission sculpture, downtown Joshua Tree, the Integratron, La Copine and the West Entrance to Joshua Tree National Park are all good outings.



Guest Access:

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.



A storage container on the property is also locked and used for rental supplies. There is a trailer on the south side of the property; it is unoccupied and locked to guests.



The Neighborhood:

Bling Shack is in North Joshua Tree's Sunfair Heights neighborhood, about 17 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree. All homes in this area are on acreage, giving guests wide open space and privacy. The last 1.4 miles to the home are dirt roads.

Getting Around:

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.



Please note that Bling Shack is in a remote location, and the final stretch to the home is on dirt roads, so please take it slow. The dirt roads are maintained, and a four-wheel drive car is not necessary, but please note that the dirt road conditions vary and may have bumps and ruts, particularly after rainstorms.



Other Things to Note:

-Pool Heating Fee-

Should you wish to have the pool heated to 85 degrees, please notify us in advance of your arrival, as there will be a supplemental charge per day for this service due to high fuel costs in this area. If you'd like the pool heated for multiple days, we ask that days be consecutive to conserve energy, thank you! Pool heating is not usually necessary May through September. Please note that we will need at least 24 hours' notice to heat the pool.



► $250 per night



During the winter months, please be aware that colder outdoor temperatures may cause the pool to feel cooler than its maintained temperature of 85°F. We kindly ask that you ensure this temperature meets your comfort level before submitting a request, as refunds cannot be issued on this basis.



-Hot Tub Heating-

No fee to heat the hot tub! Please note that because the hot tub is an in-ground hot tub, it is not heated constantly in order to conserve energy. It will take around 30 minutes to heat to 104 degrees from ambient temperature.



-Pool and Hot Tub Service-

The pool and hot tub are serviced Thursdays, approximately between 9am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.



-Pet Policy-

We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation how many dogs you are bringing. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $500. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

-Wildlife & Safety-

The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it's important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.



-Security Camera-

For your security, there are exterior cameras facing the driveway and outdoor areas, including the front and sides of the house and the pool area, which monitor vehicles and occupancy. There are no cameras inside the home.



-Cell Service-

Cell phone coverage in the area may be limited or unavailable depending on your carrier. Wi-Fi is available at the property.



-Damage Waiver Policy-

Each reservation requires either a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver.
