Beautiful mountain area. Quiet facility. Several onsens. Dinner and breakfast with many small dishes to enjoy.
The proprietor speaks Very limited English. There are no english instructions anywhere in the Ryokan. Using the onsens involved picking up wooden tags marked with Kanji that do not seem to match the onsen doors.
This area has many stinkbugs which cannot be avoided. A few appeared in the room. Just pick them up with a tissue and flush them. Do not open the windows are more will come in. Getting there by bus from Tokyo was a bit of a challenge. Most guests arrive by car. From Shunjuku Bus Terminal reserve Nohi Bus to Direct to Hirayu Onsen station, then catch Nohi bus up to Yakedaki bus stop number H59
Recommend take bus up to the Ropeway, but call for a reservation the day before. No reservation need for the return bus.

秘湯感満載の露天風呂
翌朝から登山のため3時ごろ出立する必要があったが、朝食をおにぎり弁当で提供してくれた。
飲み物の自動販売機が100円玉入れても吐き出され、まともに買えない。

This was a great stay after we had been walking the mountains, helped with recovery before we headed up to Mt Yakedake, where the access track was just up the road. Dinner was great. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating.

"The outdoor Onsens were amazing. With 4 to choose from, they all had their own charm and temp. We were lucky to have the snow (8/12). Food was plentiful and staff was exceptionally warm."
