The staff and service was second to nothing. The onsen was fantastic. dinner was like dream. Breakfast was one of the best.
The beds wasn't comfortable. room was outdated. level of maintenance was very low. It took me almost an hour to locate the place. there is no sign in English and the sign in Japanese is not clear. At the end , i had to ask people from around to help me locate the entrance,

This was simply superb. We were blown away from when we first arrived by the traditional ambience and decor, to the kindness of the staff as we were leaving. Our room was the perfect mid-trip break, with a seating area overlooking a beautiful garden. The onsen, both on site at the hotel and the open air baths across the road were amazing. The dinner and breakfasts were so meticulously prepared, the sukiyaki with hida beef was a highlight. The staff were very hardworking and kind. A very special visit I would recommend, definitely worth the bus there (which we did from Matsumoto via kamikochi)
