Riu Palace Kukulkan - Adults Only - All Inclusive

The property was great. Very clean, the staff were kind and friendly, the drinks were excellent! Our room had an amazing view and they cleaned it everyday, which was nice when you’re stay for a long period of time. The live entertainment was fun. They have about 3 beautiful pools and the beach walking distance.

The food was not the best. Some restaurants were good and others were just ok. Our room check in time was 3:00pm, but we didn’t get our room until almost 6:00pm also it was the wrong room. I booked an ocean view room and they put us in partial view room. They changed our room but we had to check out by 12:00pm and wait until 3:00pm to get the room back, which was inconvenient. Also, myself and my fiancé made a request to have the room decorated for my 30th birthday. The resort said they can decorate, but didn’t. However, when we were checking out the resort we seen them with pink balloons and number balloons going to decorate another room, which was disappointing because I was looking forward to that experience.

Riu Palace Kukulkan is a beautiful, clean, and accommodating resort with decent food overall and plenty of activities to enjoy. The beach is lovely, the views are wonderful, and there are plenty of places to unwind and relax. It's a great spot to enjoy the sunshine, scenery, and a laid-back vacation atmosphere.

While the resort itself is beautiful, there are some disappointing aspects worth mentioning. The photographers roaming the property frequently approach guests, encouraging them to pose for romantic photos and saying you can decide which ones you want later at the gift shop. What they don't make clear upfront is the price: approximately $20 USD for EACH digital photo or printed picture! They often take dozens of photos, which could easily add up to hundreds of dollars. Guests can spend 10–15 minutes posing, only to discover the prices afterward and walk away without purchasing anything. Even worse, these photographers are employed by a third-party company authorized to operate throughout the resort, not by RIU directly. They approach guests everywhere, including around the pool, which can feel intrusive when you're trying to relax. The advertised $800 in resort credits is another major disappointment. Don't mistake it for actual spending credit. It's essentially a collection of discount coupons for expensive resort services. For example, you might receive $15 off a massage package costing over $200, with similar percentage-based discounts on other services. These coupons generally offer discounts of around 5%–25%, rather than money you can freely spend toward your bill. Calling them “resort credits” creates a misleading impression of their value. The resort itself is enjoyable, but these practices detract from the overall experience and leave guests feeling that important details weren't communicated transparently.

Variety of pools, food choices good , rooms large and very comfortable, staff very helpful

Pools were too warm, some food in specialist restaurants was not hot, live entertainment pretty average, a lot of seaweed on the beach

Seeing the ocean and room was nice

Te food, couldn’t swim in ocean (seaweed and rough), too may people in pool, crowded and water was too hot!!!
