About this apartment rental

Dear Vacationers,

We’d like to introduce you to our tastefully decorated, newly renovated 4-star vacation apartment in Schauenstein near Hof/Saale, in the Franconian Forest, not far from the Fichtelgebirge. We have furnished it with great care and attention to detail, using high-quality, modern amenities, so that you can enjoy a relaxing vacation here in a beautiful and comfortable setting. The vacation rental, featuring a large loggia and balcony, is located on the first floor.

The vacation rental, with its beautiful view, is situated between the Franconian Forest and the Fichtel Mountains. You’ll find countless romantic hiking trails, including a rock labyrinth and natural springs, right here. If you want to get away from everyday life and are looking for peace, relaxation, and wellness, then you’ve come to the right place.
We offer a vacation rental with 2 bedrooms.
1st bedroom for 2 adults in a double bed (180x200 cm).
2nd bedroom with a single bed (90x200 cm).
Additional sleeping arrangements available upon request and for an extra charge. This vacation rental is located on the 1st floor and features cozy sloped ceilings. We also have a new leather couch in the living room.

Minimum stay during peak season:
April–October: 7 nights
November–March: 4 nights

Whether whether you’d like to have breakfast on the east-facing balcony or on the covered loggia (southwest)—the choice is yours. Since this vacation rental does not have a terrace, you’re welcome to use our 1,200-square-meter garden.
An electric grill is also available for your use. A playground for children is located about 100 meters away.

In the surrounding area, you can enjoy various activities such as skiing (including cross-country and downhill), biking, and hiking. Not only the spa park in Bad Steben, but also various nature trails through the Frankenwald or the Fichtelgebirge. Our beautiful Höllental valley invites you to go for walks and hikes. In the city of Hof, you can visit Theresienstein Park, which features a botanical garden and a zoo.
You can take lovely walks around Lake Untreusee in Hof. The beautiful playground with a maze and a climbing forest is a great spot for children.
The city of Bayreuth is 34 km from the accommodation, and Hof is 17 km away. Our guests are very pleased with the central location—whether it’s Plauen, Nuremberg, or Bamberg, all are within easy reach.

The cities in the area are particularly interesting. Bayreuth, the “Festival City,” boasts many attractions, including the New Palace with its museum, the Old Palace with the Hermitage, the Richard Wagner Museum, and the Rohrensee Zoo.

For relaxation, you’ll find beautiful spas in the area:
Thermal baths in Bad Steben
Thermal baths in Obernsees
Thermal baths in Weißenstadt
Thermal baths in Staffelstein
Swimming pools are in the immediate vicinity, such as in Helmbrechts, Naila, and Hof.

Enjoy the peace and quiet here on the border of the Franconian Forest and the Fichtel Mountains. Combine your wonderful vacation in the countryside with romantic excursions.

The following destinations are especially recommended:
-Pottenstein with its Devil’s Cave, the rock pool, and Pottenstein Castle
-Pure nature at Lake Fichtel—in the town of Fichtelberg, you’ll find a car museum well worth seeing.
You can combine this excursion with a hike to the Ochsenkopf (1,024 m) or the Schneeberg (1,053 m). (The Ochsenkopf is also ideal for skiing)

The Ochsenkopf is also very interesting for children, as it features a lovely summer toboggan run. If anyone has trouble walking, they can, of course, take the gondola up.
The next wonderful hiking destination in the Fichtelgebirge would be the Luisenburg with the adjacent rock labyrinth in Wunsiedel.
In the Fichtelgebirge, you’ll also find a variety of springs:
-The Eger Spring near Bischoffsgrün (on the northern slope of the Schneeberg). You’ll find rewarding hikes to the source of the Weißmain—on the northeastern slope of the Ochsenkopf—and the source of the Fichtelnaab—at the southeastern foot of the Ochsenkopf.

Schauenstein Castle is inextricably linked to the history of the town of Schauenstein. Originally the seat of the district administrator, Schauenstein Castle became privately owned in 1716. In 1933, following a donation, Schauenstein Castle became municipal property. It now also houses the Municipal Local History Museum and the Upper Franconian Fire Department Museum. The Schauenstein City Registry Office is also located in the romantic tower room of Schauenstein Castle.

We look forward to seeing you!
