A vacation in the Franconian Forest promises unspoiled nature and relaxation in an idyllic setting.
Our vacation home is located just 400 meters from Lake Frankenwald and offers a panoramic sauna right next to the forest with a beautiful sun deck, a fireplace, air conditioning, a large garden, a very quiet setting surrounded by dense forests, and a spacious lawn for sunbathing. A loop trail around the lake invites you to take relaxing walks, while the town of Lichtenberg—in the Franconian Forest, Upper Franconia, Bavaria—is only about 3 minutes away. The region offers numerous hiking trails and perfect mountain bike routes that lead directly to Bad Steben, Hölle, the Schwarzenbach Forest, the Döbraberg, or the nearby Rennsteig in Thuringia. Here you can fully enjoy the peace and beauty of the Franconian Forest.
You’ll find several beautiful thermal spas in the immediate vicinity, such as the Bad Steben Thermal Spa and Bad Lobenstein.

Our vacation home has 2 bedrooms and can accommodate up to four people. It has a living area of about 80 square meters and sits on a 900-square-meter lot right on the edge of the forest. With a little luck, you can spot deer from the terrace in the morning or evening. The first floor features a spacious living room with a fireplace, air conditioning, and satellite TV; a dining area; a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, electric kettle, and coffee maker; and a bathroom with a shower and an instant water heater. The south-west-facing terrace, furnished with comfortable chairs, a dining table, a parasol, and a grill, invites you to relax outdoors. The 900-square-meter garden is not fenced in.

Upstairs, there is a bedroom with a double bed and satellite TV, a second bedroom with a fold-out couch, as well as bed linens and towels, which are included in the price. A side staircase leads directly from the living room to the upper floor (please note: there are no child safety locks or gates).

There are numerous sights and recreational opportunities in the surrounding area. The swimming lake, complete with a circular hiking trail, is just 400 meters away. You can also relax at the thermal baths in Bad Steben or Bad Lobenstein. The old mining town of Lichtenberg beckons with its historic market square and romantic alleyways. From Lichtenberg, you can hike to the romantic Höllental valley and the Hirschsprung, or draw drinking water from the Höllensprudel spring. The Friedrich Wilhelm Stollen visitor mine, the medieval castle festival in Lichtenberg, and classical concerts at Haus Marteu are additional attractions. The spa town of Bad Steben, with its beautiful spa park, thermal baths featuring a sauna area and Skypool, and outdoor pool, is only about 3 kilometers away. You can also hike along the Rennsteig or the Mauerweg, which once formed the inner-German border (2 km away). The cities of Coburg and Kulmbach, with their castles and palaces, are also worth a visit. The Bleilochtalsperre, Germany’s largest dam, is ideal for motorboats up to 15 PS without a boating license, as well as pedal boats.
A sightseeing cruise on the passenger boats is perfect for everyone.
