Great stay! Although the beach was not swimmable due to the sargassum, the beach sand white and soft and walkable. The resort had nightly entertainment, including the World Cup games! The food was very tasty and there was a great selection! The resort was clean and well maintained. All the employees were very friendly and polite! I would definitely recommend it.

Overall, the stay was great. The staff was top notch and very friendly. We would definitely visit this Riu in the future.
Only snafu we had was our transportation from the airport to the hotel. We thought we had a shuttle in our package. Unfortunately, we did not. We spoke to the guys at the RIU kiosk outside airport and they were extremely rude and not helpful at all. We were forced to take a very sketchy, overpriced, and uneasy cab ride to our resort. Other than this speedbump the trip was great.

We had a great visit at the Riu Palace. We traveled with friends and took advantage of the free transportation to and from the airport. The hotel is just as beautiful as when we were there 18 months ago. Even though the beach was full of sargassum the pools had enough seating for everyone. Food was fantastic although I missed being able to have pastor tacos every day. Service is great and the piano player in the lobby is a special touch. Rooms are well appointed. I love how I don’t feel nickel and dimed at every corner at this resort. The staff feels generous, which is refreshing. Will return again! Tempted to try another Riu palace but I don’t think I can quit this one.

We had a fantastic stay at Riu Palace Riviera Maya! The food was genuinely better than average for an all-inclusive — lots of variety across the restaurants, everything was fresh and well-prepared, and we never felt like we were settling for "resort food." The property itself was immaculate; the grounds and rooms were clean and well-maintained throughout our entire stay.
The staff went above and beyond at every turn — friendly, attentive, and quick to help with anything we needed, which made the whole trip feel effortless. We also upgraded to the Elite Club, and it was absolutely worth it — the added perks and service level elevated the whole experience.
Overall a beautiful resort with great food, a clean and well-run property, and staff that made us feel taken care of the entire time. Highly recommend for anyone considering the Riviera Maya!
