We were just 2 people. Fabulous house in the old ramparts. We loved the location and sitting in the beautiful garden. Our bedroom had views right over the ramparts and across the countryside. It's stunning. The kitchen had everything we needed including a large fridge freezer.
We enjoyed the walk around the ramparts and strolling the streets. We also walked down through the parks and along the river. It's beautiful.
We caught the airport bus back from just outside the main entrance (to the right). The bus stop had an airplane sign on it. Ask at the tourist information within the ramparts for the bus times.
Don't follow Google maps to walk from the station to the house. 1) it's a very long walk 2) it takes you up to a rampart gate near the house which is up a very steep, rough, stone chipping covered, deeply cracked mud walkway. It's very, very difficult to walk on with bags. Get a taxi to the main entrance and walk through the old city.
We went when it was stiflingly hot and there is no aircon. The fans helped a little.
The only foodstuffs you can buy within the walls are pastries and bread. You can't buy butter or milk or jam or anything else. You have to eat out for every meal or walk into town. The downstairs living space would be a challenge if all 3 bedrooms were occupied although you can enjoy the seating outside.

Was inside the city wall. Great outside courtyard. Very good to have a washing machine.
Local restaurants empty bottles into bins outside the house in the early hours and the cobblestone streets are cleaned.

Our stay was exactly what we were looking for...within the city's walls, wonderful views over the city's ramparts, an outside space and comfortable rooms both with ensuite facilities, plenty of towels and the kitchen well equipped. It was so easy to wander the streets of the castle with all of its facilities right on the doorstop. Thankyou!!
Possibly my error or maybe an assumption but the property is shown with 3 bedrooms however only 2 were open. It mattered not as I had booked for 2 persons however the 2nd room was not made up although there was bed linen left. we were 2 friends travelling not a couple so perhaps that's where the miscommunication lay. Perhaps some communication ahead of the stay would have been helpful. I'll note to do that going forward from my end. Note for those staying, there isn't much in the way of grocery shopping within the cite, so if needed, a shop outside is necessary first. Although you are right on top of all of the restaurants and the hosts leave a very helpful guide.

Great location in the city. Beautiful outdoor terrace!
Not the owners fault, but it was 37 degrees while we were there (97). No air conditioning, which i can understand, but I would have thought they would provide a fan in at least one of the rooms. The stairs are SO narrow and twisty, it was almost impossible to climb, and there was no chance of bringing our suitcases upstairs, we had to leave them downstairs in the kitchen. We only had carryon luggage, but getting them from the parking lot outside the city walls up to the apartment was so hard especially in the heat! The bedroom window literally opens over the bed, so if you sit up in bed, you could easily hit your head on the window frame. And no screens, so the flies and bees can all come inside. We ended up leaving early, and found another place to stay with air conditioning. The owners were extremely nice, but that didn’t help the situation. Stay here not in the summer and use the smaller bedroom to avoid the window problem, and it would be very nice. The location in the city was ideal.
