The check in process was problematic, having to find someone to guide us to the adjacent hotel in order to go through the process.
The hairdryer in the room either wasn't working or if it was there was no instructions on how to get it to work.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived late and need to park our car, he showed me the spot and do the check in quickly.

Location just off station square and the tram station is great as is the free travel BaselPass
Great breakfast
Nobody in reception most of the time, had to go to the hotel next door to check in

The location and the breakfast were the only worthwhile aspects.
I spent an hour in line just to check in; I thought things in Switzerland ran on time—I had a 5 PM appointment and ended up being late. When I booked this hotel, it clearly stated there was air conditioning, but there isn't any. They gave me a fan with an ice compartment that melted and soaked the entire carpet. The hairdryer didn't work; they fixed it the next day, but don't count on it—it’s not very good, so bring your own. The pillows didn't have cases and, naturally, smelled like someone else had used them. The location and the breakfast were the only worthwhile aspects.
