Beautiful property with excellent views of Lake Tekapo, located in a quiet residential street just a few minutes drive from Lake Tekapo village. Very spacious unit, stylishly decorated, spotlessly clean, with both a comfortable bed and lounge. Lovely verandah area for sitting outside in the afternoon with a glass of wine. Self check in easy, instructions provided to us were simple to follow. You can park right next to the front entrance to the unit, a bonus if you have heavy luggage or sporting equipment to bring inside, which we did! Very thorough instructions provided about rubbish and recycling, so we were happy to follow them and help care for the Lake Tekapo environment.
For this standard of accommodation, we expected more bathroom inclusions- only body and hand wash were provided, with no shampoo or conditioning products, no tissues either. An ice cube tray in the fridge would also have been appreciated. But these were minor observations, overall we had a wonderful stay.

The location of the property was great, and the place was clean and comfortable. I especially loved the Ecoya soaps.
The biggest issue with this property was the lack of transparency around pricing and the children’s policy. I tried to make a booking for 2 adults and 2 children, but the available options only allowed me to select 2 adults, 3 adults, or 4 adults. The property’s child policy also states, “All children welcome. Children over 18 will be charged as adults.” Because of this, it was unclear how my two children under 5 would be charged.
I contacted the property directly for clarification and was told that children are charged the same rate as adults, at $45 per night. However, this did not seem to match the final amount I was charged, which was $815 for two nights. Overall, I found the pricing structure very confusing and felt that the costs were not explained transparently enough.
There were also a few other issues during our stay. The refrigerator had apparently been set to its coldest temperature, which I did not notice until the following morning, when I discovered that everything inside had frozen. There was also a locked door down the hallway that looked quite unsettling. It could not be opened, and there was no explanation of what it was for, which I found a little uncomfortable. Additionally, the automatic hallway lighting was not very effective and could be inconvenient at times.
Despite these issues, the property had some positive aspects, but I believe greater transparency around pricing and clearer information about the children’s policy would significantly improve the guest experience.
