Traditional homestyle food. Staff attentive. Owner organised good value tours for us.
Quite rustic but typical Egyptian experience.
Beware the rooms are all called Deluxe. The rooms with a proper shower screen would be the minimum requirement for us.

This is by far the best hotel experience I’ve had in many years.
Kafana and his crew went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. The rooms are spotless, recently renovated, and equipped with reliable A/C and fast Wi-Fi. On top of that, the homemade food was the best we had in all of Egypt.
The views of the Nile are absolutely lovely—sleeping with the windows open to the cool river breeze was a highlight. The public ferry to the mainland is just a 5-minute walk away, or Kafana can easily arrange a private boat.
I will definitely be returning and recommending this place to all my friends!

This guesthouse is very peaceful, near the Nile were you can swim to refresh. The public areas are nice, with all the paintings on the walls.
The hosts have their own boat so you can ask them to drive you to some places (for example the botanical garden which is just in front).
The breakfast is very good. They can also make food at any time.
The WiFi is good in all the guesthouse, which is rare in Egypt.
I would recommand people to take a room with Nile view : the terrace is amazing.
We asked once for a boat transfer during night, and it was much more expensive than the public boat transfer at the same time (300 EGP pp vs 75).
