Nice property in Fort William, walkable to the main streets. Breakfast was pretty good, quite a variety
Door doesn’t have soft closure so there was a lot of slamming doors in the morning. We could also hear people above us when they walked

Such an old cool hotel looking like a castle; too bad it was being renovated on the outside but some of the scaffolding was removed on our second night. Very helpful staff at the front desk; great walking location into town…had a wonderful driver into the Glenfinnan Viaduct area to see the Harry Potter train pass! Was wonderful and his ability to drive us there and take us around made our day! Great and complete breakfast each day helped us start our adventures on the right foot.
Be prepared for stairs in case that’s an issue for you but the place had a lot of character

Easy access, friendly staff. Bar and breakfast fair. Hot clean shower with good towels. Comfortable beds.
Bit battered in places.. tile off bathroom wall, bathroom door hook on floor and generally bedroom bit scuffed up. Also .. our room was on ground floor with no opening stop on window so for security had to have window closed overnight.
Main issue … poor bar food on a Sunday evening with only Sunday roast choices in main restaurant. Not sure what was in ‘hummus’ carrot sandwich but didn’t taste of hummus and chicken Caesar salad consisted of small amount of sliced breaded, poor quality dry chicken reconstituted ‘breast’, 6 bought in dry croutons and a small amount of lettuce smothered in Caesar dressing… really not worth £15 and wouldn’t take much - effort or money - to improve … small sides of chunky chips also rather oily so not finished.
