I enjoy staying in this hotel because of it's location, which is close to the town centre and the rail station without being noisy. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Check in was quick & easy. The facilities were as advertised. Breakfast was adequate with choice of hot and cold. Service was really good.
Our room was on 2nd floor. There were 2 coach parties with people of varying ages and physical abilities. We are independent travellers. My husband has COPD & I have some walking difficulties. The lift took 1 person at a time due to it's propensity to break down if more than 1 entered. This was wholly inadequate.
The shower pressure was poor.
This hotel used to have a traditional, welcoming reception area. It has been 'modernised' to such a degree that the soul has been removed. Hard tiled floor, the bar lounge area is now all 'wood' flooring.

Great hotel! Very nice location, the room was spacios and the bathroom had a bathtub which is such a rare case for hotels overall, at least at this price category!

The staff were excellent and the hotel was clean and in a fabulous location. Breakfast choice wasn't great, but was delicious.
The hotel is dated and a bit shabby.
Our room was small, but clean, and just seemed tired with several areas of maintenance required both in the bedroom and the bathroom. Luckily we did not intend to spend any time in the room, so weren't too bothered by this.
