Can’t get more central or special than staying in a former madrasah, in a place like Khiva. I really wanted to stay there and experience this. So we did.
That being said, we’d not stay there again.
The smell from the bathroom pipes was bad! Not sure if just in our room, or in general.
The staff is also pretty entitled and takes the place for granted. Told one of them that we’ll be leaving very early for breakfast, he said he will get us some lunch boxes.
Next morning, he said we didn’t tell him. Didn’t even bother to argue. Glad I couldn’t find availability the following day and found Karim Hotel instead.

We’ve picked this hotel for the experience and it surely did not disappoint. The location is excellent and the room itself was quite comfy. It was far from luxurious, but had basic amenities.
Breakfast was a bit too basic, although served in an amazing location.

Friendly stuff and room was very comfortable. Felt more than 3 stars.
I never said I didn’t like it but price could be a bit lower. Laundry is very expensive.

Location within Ichan Kala was great and the breakfast had a good selection.
The rooms are very substandard and very old. The beds did not have fitted sheets so the sheet exposes the mattress. The room rate is not worth it. The hotels just outside the Itchan Kala are mush more modern and reasonably close.
