We liked everything about the property; but it feels very different than the western accommodations we are used to.

Central location, beautiful balcony view, delicious traditional Japanese cuisine, and relaxing onsen—well done!
Perhaps the shower nozzle could be mounted a little higher on the shower wall.

The staff is extremly friendly and helpful.
The room is very big.
Meals were very tasety.
I believe we had an expectations issue.
I didn't feel it is a reyokan. It is more a hotel that was designed as reyokan. I expected a much more small intimate experience.
The meals are great but the veraiety set in advance. If you don't like the food, you will remain hungry. There are no options to choose from, even in advance.
