Hotel is in a great location with on-site parking.
Staff were great. Joanna welcomed us at check in, very friendly & pleasant. Big shout out to the guy taking the breakfast orders - what a star! Extremely polite, professional & friendly. Wouldn’t be out of place at a 5* his service was so good.
Breakfast was very good too, poached eggs and porridge. Downside was the percolated coffee.
Room was quiet in that we didn’t hear any hotel noise but on busy road.
We booked a dog friendly ‘superior’ double, but I wouldn’t class it as superior. It was spacious and clean, and its own external, entrance door which was handy, but furniture was dated and tatty.
We also didn’t have hot water the first night, just lukewarm, but next night showered earlier and shower was great.
I think £200 a night, which is what it cost by time we added £25 dog fee, was high for the standard.
It would have been nice to have something for the £25 too, maybe a towel or blanket, or some dog biscuits in the room.
