The hotel is attractive, well maintained and generally very clean, especially the bathroom. The breakfast was good, the staff were otherwise polite, and we appreciated being able to leave our luggage after check-out.
Unfortunately, despite its attractive appearance and high ratings, our three-night stay was extremely uncomfortable.
Our first-floor room was located directly next to the staircase and elevator, and the sound insulation was extremely poor. We could clearly hear conversations from neighbouring rooms and noise from people passing through the corridor throughout our stay.
On the first morning, we were woken up by vacuum cleaning at 6:40 AM. We reported this to the hotel, which apologised and offered us earplugs. However, on our final morning, vacuum cleaning started again at around 7 AM, followed by almost two hours of loud conversations and laughter between housekeeping staff directly outside our room, where their cleaning trolley was positioned. We were unable to return to sleep.
Shortly before 9 AM that same morning, housekeeping entered our room while we were still inside, well before the official check-out time, despite the hotel's cleaning-upon-request policy. They left immediately when they saw us, but the incident made us uncomfortable.
The room also had a persistent unpleasant odour, the carpet had several visible stains, and some of the bed linen did not smell fresh. Although our request for a double bed had been confirmed, we were given two single beds pushed together, with uncomfortable separate mattresses. The thin curtains also allowed considerable daylight into the room.
Management responded politely to our complaints, which we appreciate. However, the repeated disturbances and overall lack of comfort made this a very disappointing stay.
We have stayed in much more comfortable hotels, including lower-category properties. Unfortunately, we would not choose to return.
