I like the position of this hotel and we have stayed many many times. Close to the ferry pier but quiet. The staff are helpful and friendly. The breakfast is really good with plenty of choice, both hot & cold.
Oh dear. Wallpaper peeling, leaks, tired carpets. Our room was in the turret on the 5th floor. The shower pressure frquently dropped to a drizzle before kicking in again. Whilst we didn't eat in the hotel ( we usually eat in the bar area which has always been very good) on this occasion, I overheard people (whilst in the lift) on coach trips complaining about the food served in the upstairs dining area. This was sad to hear. The Internet stopped working on our final day but was up and running on the morning of checkout.

It's an old building and some of the decoration needs re doing but the place was spotless. With a bit of character. Food was excellent too.
Bar should have Scottish beers though.

Very pleased to see fresh fruit avaible
The floors in bedrooms are squeaky. My neighbors upstairs were up until midnight and got up at 5am. Room 304.
Stayed Tuesday prior and Room 322 very tired.
