It was a beautiful building, clean, excellent location and we were very comfortable.
The stairs to the spa were very steep.

The spa was unfortunately closed due to unexpected circumstances very unusual situation that never happened before. Staff did their best to still make the stay nice and pleasant
Didn’t like the fact nobody told us on our way to the hotel that the spa was closed. It was our whole point in going to the hotel in the first place

Beautiful hotel with very professional and attentive staff
It would have been nice if there was a service for taking our luggage up to our rooms but this would be an over and above service. I think it would be a nice touch for somewhere so lovely.

Room 351. The shutters at the windows in the bedroom are missing pins that facilitate opening and closing. So most need to be done individually. Housekeeping must know this as they have to be regularly cleaned. The 2 sinks in the bathroom do not dispense hot water. Another housekeeping issue. There is a build up of mould on the window pane surrounds. Disgusting. This is a build up over time and the hotel has done nothing about it. Perhaps nobody cares. One day our beverage tray was not replenished. Sorted out by reception in the evening. The cooked breakfast was dismal. Served at just about tepid. Therefore cold after 2 mins of eating it. The poached eggs were rock hard and unpleasant. I get the impression that nobody cares much about the service standards at this hotel. Not what I expect at £168 per night.
