Location, quiet, spotlessly clean
Room a little dated

The bar convent is a wonderful building; the oldest working convent in the UK. There are twisty corridors and a chapel where you can view the hand of St Margaret Clitheroe.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is also a cafe. The continental breakfast was adequate, although it would have been better if a cooked breakfast had also been an option.
The bedroom was reasonably spacious and the bed comfortable.
If you are planning a visit to York, then the Bar Convent would be a good choice for reasonably priced and comfortable accommodation.
The lack of a cooked breakfast.
