A very authentic Ryokan experience located in the hills above lake Ashi. Well-appointed room and good facilities including fantastic dinner and breakfast service and easy-to-book onsen.
Some of the facilities are a little dated, but that does also add to the charm of the place.

beautiful location the mist coming from the mountains was magical the property has character and show the original Japanese tradition, we got the dinner and was a great experience.
There was a pile of bird pops on the window the room was ok, we got the private onsen but it definitely needs care and a good update! I wouldn’t recommend it there was black mould on the walls and roten flors

Old, traditional, quiet - near Lake Ashi
The meals were AMAZING - make sure you take the half-board option.
We arrived and hour before check-in and were allowed to put our bags in the room but we're rushed out before we could get anything out of them. The room was fully made but we were not allowed in it with our bags for more than one minute supervised - very weird. The location was nice and remote but from Odawara there was no bus for as we were instructed there would be, so an extra train and bus got us there - from the bus stop we had to wing it, a short walk in the rain kind of guessing. The photos of the baths are the private baths - not included in the price. The baths included are no where near as nice. The room could have been better maintained - musty and not pristine. Over all the food made up for it and it was a very unique experience but for the money the other aspects could have been better.

I don't give an insufficient value just for the woman that was serving our breakfast and dinner: one of the kindest person I've even met in my life
The semi-kaiseski and japanese breakfast and dinner were good. Maybe in some cases they used too poor ingredients.
The staff was gentle. I asked to clean the bird excrement out of my window. They couldn't satisfy my request but they tried to apologize with a discount on the private bath ... Appreciated
The room was a little bit old but it remembers their traditional houses. I liked the futon ... Very comfortable!
The yukata given for use was nice
The entire building needs a renovation and repair
The private bath is cool if you with to stay with your partner but also this one could be improved and repaired
The cost is too high for what they offer
The bathroom is very old
The hand soap was diluted with water!
For soaps and shampoos I suggest to use dispensers instead of single-user ones
