Absolutely beautiful place to stay in Kinosaki. The staff were so kind and ensured we knew how everything worked and where to go, including helping us fit the yukata. The room was cosy and warm, and never had to wait for a private onsen. Highly recommend staying at Mikuniya ryokan.

The large bath was lovely, designed to spill water out with a gentle trickling noise as you get in. Refreshing for the soul. Staff made an effort although my Japanese is poor.
Appreciate its a traditional venue but the toilet areas were quite dated, perfect working order but perhaps not the standard I'd expected after staying elsewhere. The kaiseki would benefit with more instruction/information to international guests, tasty though.

Our stay at Mikuniya Ryokan was absolutely wonderful! The property is beautiful, the traditional dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the onsen experience was fantastic. Above all, the staff were incredibly kind, attentive and welcoming, making us feel truly special. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we couldn’t have been happier. An unforgettable experience that we wholeheartedly recommend!
